2001: A Space Odyssey - 7.75/10 - The book was better. If I didn't read the book first I'd be all like, "why is Bowman a baby in space?" but because I did I'm actually like, "oh ok". Also, the huge intervals of mechanical/air hissing noises started to piss my ears off near the end.

Also, HAL 9000 is a blatant GlaDOS ripoff. :-b

Green Lantern 5/10

Went to see this with a buddy of mine who's a huge GL comics fan... it was OK, but I'd wait for the DVD. Special effects were actually really good, but the plot could have been much better, particularly considering some of the awesome story lines in the comics...

Super 8 - 8/10 - Really good fun entertainment, but I just didn't care much for the ending. Don't want to divulge much so I'll just say 1 Kid says one thing to "the problem" and it leaves that quickly? ;-7

:::::response involves a spoiler. don't read if haven't seen:::::

Remeber, that thing communicates telepathicaly through touch. the kid didn't really have to say anything for the thing to understand him. the thing realized when he touched the kid that not all humans are bad.

Water For Elephants 6/10 - It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. The ending was disappointing in how the antagonist was taken care of, but besides that it was a relatively decent movie and one enjoyable enough for you to take your lady to and score some points without wanting to scream.

Super 8: 9/10

Some great young talent in this. Elle Fanning was amazing. This film should see some award nominations.

True Grit: 7/10

Good film, but some things could have been better. The young actress playing the lead was very good, Bridges was awesome. What should have been the denouement was rather anti-climactic. The girl growing up into such an unlikable hag kinda took away from the story I thought.

Thor: 6/10

With Hollywood churning out so many comic book movies they can't all be good. This one was middle of the road I thought. Entertaining-ish, but I wouldn't watch again.

Has anyone seen the original True Grit with John Wayne? I am wondering how they think the two compare?

Iron Man 2: 5.5/10 - typically sequel to an action movie where the villian and pretty much the entire plot is ho-hum.

The Adjustment Bureau: 6.5/10 - Interesting film but too many plot holes for me to be really good.

Sanctum: 3/10 - was bored through most of it as I disliked the acting and premise.

Harry Potter 7b 8.5/10

Yup, I went to the midnight show. I will never do that again. The lines were ridiculous, the kids were insane, the 2nd row seat I got herded into was hell on my neck, and the 3 hours of sleep I got are about to knock me out any minute now.

The movie itself was very well done, though. I thought 7a was pretty slow moving, but this one had a ton going on. While there were changes from the book, they were pretty well thought out and actually added to the movie.

It was definitely one of the best HP movies, and a well done finale for the series.

Highlander 1: 10/10
Awesome. Iconic. Sean Connery is the original Troll Dad.

Highlander 2: 1/10
Nearly the gayest crap I have ever seen. WTF. A prequel would have actually made sense, but no, let's throw a bunch of nonsensical garbage together.
Example: Woman sees an 80 year old man magically turn into a 30 year old man, so decides to instantly have sexy times with him against an alley wall. I didn't know I was going to be watching something written by B grade porn script writers.

Total Recall: 7/10
I quite liked it. It was a bit gorier then I remember. O:-)

The Running Man: 5/10
Watchable, but not the most amazing.
