Our first trip to the movies with our 6 and 3 year old. It was an ok movie, very predictable, but the kids loved it and that's all that matters. It beat out watching Hop in a 2-0 landslide as they love playing Angry Birds.

wife took our 2 year old to see Hop yesterday...this was his 2nd time in the movies. sounds like he's not quite civilized enough for the movies yet :-b may roll the dice and take him to see Rio still though

I've always enjoyed the movies where the same section of time is replayed over and over again (e.g. Groundhog Day) and this one didn't disappoint. As long as you don't try to pick apart the plot holes too much, it's a pretty entertaining movie.

I agree. 8.5/10 for me too. Jake Gyllennghall sp? is terrific.

At the show I saw a preview for this

I have to ask. Has Hollywood gone completely nuts? Who agree to make this monstrosity? The preview was so god awful that the entire theatre was sniggering or laughing out loud. %-6

I saw Atlas Shrugged last week. It was pretty bad, but not quite as bad as I expected. If you are a Rand fan, it's probably a 6 out of 10. If you hate Rand, it's probably a 2. If you've never heard of it, I'll split the difference and say a 4.

I also saw Bridesmaids last night (special screener because I'm important. Whatever, stop asking!) and it was really good. Surprisingly good for a chick flick. I'd give it an 8. It had some pretty draw out slapstick crap that got annoying, but in general it was far better than the previews indicate.

Apparently it's a super-serious, dark, depressing movie, Mel Gibson plays the role excellently, and the screenplay is impeccable. I'm just going to watch it out of curiosity because I'm wondering how the hell they can actually pull this off.

It reminds me of this. I wonder if it's based off it.

I've probably reviewed these before but I've recently watched them all again. They deserve a second viewing.

Firefly series 8.5/10
Not a movie but a tv series that died a premature death. Hot chicks, violence, an evil empire, savages, what more can you ask for?

Serenity 9/10
The movie version of Firefly. All the goodness of the tv show and Joss Whedon gets to kill off his characters :-B

The Fantastic Mr. Fox 9.5/10
The best of Wess Anderson and George Clooney. Hiliarious and the kids will enjoy it even if they don't understand it.
