Yeah I was just going to post that. He's actually been in quite a few good films.

Fantastic films with Ben Assflaps:
Good Will Hunting
Dogma
State of Play
Malrats
Dazed and Confused
Field of Dreams

Decent films with Ben Assflaps:
Extract
Smokin' Aces
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (I actually think this was below average, but lots of people like it)
200 Cigarettes
Chasing Amy
School Ties

Everything else is pretty much crap.

umm... gone baby gone was really good and he directed that as well.

Three Days of the Condor - 9/10 - Excellent movie, perhaps Redford's best performance about a man who reads books for the CIA and inadvertently uncovers a complicated scheme without even realizing he's done so. He kidnaps Faye Dunaway and uses her and her home to figure out what has happened and how to combat it. The ending is excellent. Great late 70s spy movie.

Bonnie and Clyde 9/10 - Another awesome movie. Faye Dunaway in this movie is gorgeous and Warren Beatty is the man. Classic that most of you have probably already seen.

You're talking about the Guy Pierce version, right? Because that was indeed quite terrible. :-*

Yeah, I've never seen the original, but this version is soooooooo bad.

A few in-flight movies I caught up on:

Iron Man 2 - 6.5/10 - Can't say I had great expectations following up what was a well above-average first Iron Man film. Still better than the average superhero flick.

Robin Hood (2010) - 4.5/10 - Predictable, somewhat of a letdown given that the trailers and Russell Crowe featuring made it seem more epic than otherwise thought. Better than Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner, as if that's saying much.

Prince of Persia - 4.5/10 - Curiosity got the better of me here, as I couldn't quite believe Princess Tamina was played by Gemma Arterton (sure didn't look like her in the posters). I usually associate Arterton as cute as a button, but not a drop dead sexy gorgeous bombshell. Anyhow, with a tan and nice dark brown hair, she looked fantastic. The movie itself was as advertised: good escapist entertainment, nothing special.

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels - 7/10 - Hadn't seen this film in a long while and was pleasantly surprised to see this on demand. Truthfully, I didn't enjoy seeing this again as much as I did a few times long before, but nonetheless entertaining. Cleverly written plot and dialogue, but not quite a classic.

Kick Ass - 7/10 - A refreshing, over-the-top take on the typical comic superhero film.

The Town - 8.5/10 don't know what more I could have asked for. Affleck was good, Jeremy Renner was awesome. The chase scene was awesome. I can't find anything about this moview that I disliked. the only reason it doesn't get 9 or above is because I don't feel that it will have the rewatchability of my select few favorites. One thing that I really liked was that even though it didn't really have twists and surprises in the plot, it was still an unpredictable mystery how this whole thing would turn out. Bravo to this movie, I enjoyed it.

State of Play - 7.5/10Decided to rent this one because of the solid reception it has gotten on this board and had not seen it. Though it was really good. had some solid twists and turns that you would expect from a film of this style and Russell Crowe was enjoyable. was a good one.

The original's a great watch in that "Logan's Run/Planet of the Apes" kind of way.

With the day off tomorrow and nothing to do, I'm thinking about doing an unprecedented 4 movie marathon tomorrow on one ticket. I feel like I'm 14 again!

I'm thinking Wall Street, Buried, Waiting for Superman, and then TBD. I'm sure you're all very jealous.

Get Carter (1971) - 6/10

Michael Caine is a soulless hired gun looking to avenge his brothers death.
It was slow, but I liked it. It had atmosphere.

Toy Story 3 - 9/10

I finally saw this at a discount theater yesterday. I agree with what has already been said about it in this thread. It's a great story with incredible visuals and was a fantastic conclusion to a terrific trilogy. Someday I'll have to watch all three close together. The original is the only one I've seen multiple times. I don't hardly remember what happens in Toy Story 2.

The Town: 7.75/10 - Solid movie, almost worth the $4.25 I paid to see it, but there's better alternatives if I want to watch that type of movie. It was like the Boondock Saints plus Four Brothers with more talking, less memorable characters, and a cheap romantic subplot. The characters and acting kinda sucked (including Rebecca Hall playing an idiot) but the story and directing made up for it.
