Maybe people aren't considering him "this generation" but Daniel Day Lewis is miles above everybody that's been mentioned.

i'm sorry... did I start an argument here? ;-7 haha..

for what my opinion is worth I think Daniel Day-Lewis has had the best performances, but his extended breaks and time between movies leave him with a very small body of work.

If I had to vote for best actor of our generation, I gotta go Leo.. and it's not really close. I mean, go watch catch me if you can again.. aviator, Blood Diamond, heck even The Beach.. Leo owns the screen.

Note: not really meant to be part of the argument. Just one man's opinion.
