Keep in mind that I watched this on my 12 inch laptop, not a theatre...Obviously the visuals don`t do quite as much for ya when that is the case. I really enjoyed it tho ;-D

Do yourself a favour and see it before it leaves theatres. You won't regret it.

I've had a few long cross-country flights in the past week, so I watched a bunch of movies.

invictus was crazy overrated. It was so boring. The sports scenes weren't even good. Just a boring boring movie. I'd have much rather seen a movie about Nelson Mandela's life than that idiocy.

The Informant. Awesome. Damon was great in it. They painted a great picture of a non-murderous-but-still-pretty-crazy Patrick Bateman type. The twists and turns at the end got a bit much, but still really good, and I'd definitely recommend it.

A Perfect Getaway. Totally called the ending basically 10 minutes into the movie. But decent.

Whiteout. Ditto. But not worth watching. I think for the plane, they also edited out a nude Kate Beckinsale scene - and if so that would make the movie more palatable.

Inglorious Basterds. I'd already seen it. But wanted to watch it again now that I knew what was going in. Christoph Walz was still unbelievable. The movie was better the second go around.

Invictus- 7/10 I thought this was a solid movie. Freeman was very good as Mandela. Nothing extraordinary tho

Ed Wood- 7.5/10 Weird, but good. Johnny Depp carries this movie, and now I`m actually kinda interested in watching some of the real Ed Wood`s films just to see how bad they really were. :-D

Gangs of New York- 9/10 first time ever seeing this movie. Thought it was excellent, especially Daniel-Day Lewis` performance.

Inglourious Basterds: 8/10

Good movie. I have seen all of his movies, but never imaged Quentin Tarantino doing a WW2 war film. He certainly applied his own style to the genre, and it works well. In a year of pretty mediocre films (imo) this was one of the better movies i saw.

that is just so wrong. its one movie that you have to see it in 3D, and preferably in imax 3D.

i want to see it another time in 3D to see if if paying extra for imax 3D was worth it.

That's my favorite Scorsese movie, it's really underrated and easily my favorite Daniel Day Lewis movie. Considering their other work that's pretty high praise. I still can't believe Chicago got the Oscar that year.

I love Gangs of New York too, not sure it's my favorite Scorsese film though...Casino, Goodfellas, The Color of Money, Bringing Out the Dead, The Departed, Cape Fear, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, etc. Too many I really love to pick a favorite. Not sure I'd give it a 9 either simply because of Cameron Diaz. She was simply dreadful and completely unconvincing, maybe the worst cast character ever in the history of film...definitely the worst ever cast in a Scorsese film. If they cast....pretty much anyone else that film is a homerun. Still it's a solid 8.
