1984 - 7.5/10.

For the most part, a faithful adaptation to the George Orwell novel. The sheer gloominess is a bit over-the-top from the book itself IMO. This left me wanting an Ingsoc flag in a bad way.

Doubt - 8/10

Very well acted. Gives you enough info to knows what's going on, but not without having to think about it and confirm or deny your own doubts (get it?) about what is going on.

damn...now i want to watch this again

The Orphanage spanish language Guillermo Del Toro film about an orphan girl who was adopted and later buys her old orphanage and adopts a boy with plans to take in more orphans. the boy has quite a few "imaginary friends" and later disapeers, which leads to some spooky hijinks ensuing...pretty good and a good ending
7/10

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen meh...
Pro: Good Action, Meghan Fox
Con: Shia LeBouf, Jive-Bots that made Jar-Jar Binks seem like a good idea, one Decepticon having "balls" and John Tuturro having to utter the line "i'm directly beneath the enemy scrotum" or something like that, the old British Bot...i was waiting for him to say "you're the man now, dog", anti-climactic ending
6/10

The Heartbreak Kid - 3/10

Ben Stiller being annoying, other characters being even more annoying. notably lacking hijinks. Jerry Stiller is funny for 5 minutes at the beginning. Senseless plot/story, if it can even be called that.

The Warriors for being almost 30 years old it's held up pretty well...i mean it's cheesy and full of ugly 70's/80's people (including the guy who plays Dexters dad) but it was pretty entertaining. never really a dull moment but i was expecting a little more from this film based on it's reputation

Inglorious Basterds 9/10
Only playing at one location in town. Probably the last opportunity to see this in the theatre. Great movie. The guy that plays the SS officer is terrific. Was shocked at the end to find out that it was 2 and a half hours long. Felt like an hour and a half. It just flew by.

Zombieland 8.75/10 - American take on Shaun of the Dead. I still like Shaun of the Dead better, but Zombieland definitely holds its own. Jesse Eisenberg+Woody Harrelson is a hilarious pairing, and the two girls (Emma Stone and some 12 year old) are absolute badasses.
