I give War of the Worlds about a 3/10. Nothing interested me at all in that movie.

Thank you for Smoking, I'll give that a 7/10 (pretty high for me). I really enjoyed it.

Anyone see Zodiac? It looks pretty awesome. Good reviews too, seems like the first decent movie to come out this year... although that's not saying much considering the garbage that's been coming out. As enticing as "Norbit" seems or the promise of more hilarious racial comedy in "Wild Hogs" I think a change of pace would be nice.

Then of course 300 is almost here. ;-D

It reminded me a bit of Se7en, but I think it was the same director or producer, so that could be why as well. I'd give this movie 8.5/10.

I didn't see this before making my last post; I think I'm going to catch it tomorrow, especially since I really enjoyed Seven.

Saw Zodiac and Black Snake Moan.

Zodiac was one of those movies that was good all around but won't really leave you breathless because it is based on actual events and we all know what eventually happens. It is a great story for those who've never heard of this particular killer but doesn't really deliver a satisfying punchline a great piece of fiction like Seven can muster, for example. I'd probably give it a 6.5 or 7/10.

Black Snake Moan was one twisted ride but somehow I think the writers were able to pull this story off. It's one of those movies where everything outrageous but consistently so. Therefore, a part of you is able to just leave your brain & rationale at home and simply enjoy this movie. 6/10

Perhaps I'm a tough critic but 6/10 is considered a pretty high score for me ;-)

Thank You for Smoking - 7/10

Pretty entertaining, lots of good quotables and one-liners. What I like best was the relative honesty of the writing. It wasn't preachy or polarizing.

Children of Men:

I'm a little late on this one, but I found it to be a relatively interesting assay of human nature. There are many powerful images in the film, some of the wartime scenes catch the severity of such conflict. As depressing as the movie gets, you can't help but watch as the clive owen's character's world seemingly "goes to hell."

Justifiably worth a watch. Do not watch on a rainy day, its depressing.
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

The Prestige - 8.5/10

Kept me guessing all the way through. Started off slow and I was a bit confused but after about 30 minutes into it, I was hooked. I had pretty high expectations going into the movie and it still did not disappoint. Nolan is an EXCELLENT director and I will watch any/all his movies. Bale is great once again and Jackman did a great job as well.

Well put. At no point did I feel like taking one side or the other. Great ensemble cast too.

And the best worst movie is "Just One of the Guys". Everybody knows that.
