Finally got around to watching this. So much has been said about it already that there's really nothing for me to add. Basically I'm retarded for putting off seeing it so long.

I'll have to watch it again in the next few days. I get the feeling that there was a fair amount of meaning outside of the general plot that I probably missed.

Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen - 9/10

This is everything a summer blockbuster should be. Crap blows up beginning to end. It's visually stunning, the effects as well as all of the Transformers themselves. There's a ton of action and fighting the entire time. The plot isn't so bad or stupid or unbelievable that it ruins the movie. It's got the hottest woman on the planet in it in Megan Fox. And the writing I felt was actually well done for characters like Sam's mom and roommate to make them pretty funny at times. Plus the nostalgia level going into this movie will only be surpassed when I go see G.I. Joe.

I always associate Dolph Lundgren as Drago in Rocky IV. For me, he can't shake off that character. I must break you.

Transformers 2 was everything a Summer blockbuster should be, visually. But the abundance of pathetic and painfully unfunny dialog was enough for me to downgrade it accordingly: C-. Most of the supporting cast of Transformers had like a Jar-Jar Binks type feel that, coupled with all of the lame dialog and obvious sterotypes, made me cringe instead of laugh. One them, think it was Mud Flap, had a gold tooth, spoke in Ebonics, and had entirely too much screen-time. It was grotesquely formulaic, which one might come to expect but this movie was unwavering in that regard. A little variation on the proven Hollywood formula should be afforded to the audience. Aside from neat FX and the outrageous beauty of Meagan Fox, it was pretty disappointing. If I had to sit through one more slow motion sequence at the end, I was going to start hurling popcorn at the screen. This ain't no Reservoir Dogs so stop using a dramatic effect in place of a dramatic event. Michael Bay really should acquire a co-director in his next endeavor.

Michael Bay part about a minute in pretty much describes him perfectly.

Every so often a project has the masses greatly excited and then BOOM, its progress is shut down and the project is killed. This is apparently what has happened to the new He-Man project that was being developed at Warner Bros. called Grayskull: Masters of the Universe.

Hopefully Soderbergh doesn't get hold of this one too. :-t :-t :-t :-t :~(
