Oh, I understood it, hence why Neato has kept his jester mask for as long as he has.

I shouldn't wait this long between posts...

3:10 To Yuma - 7.5/10 - Not a big fan of westerns but Crowe and Bale did a great job in this one.

Office Space - 8/10 - Definitely more of my kind of comedy than the ones later in this post. Some great characters and a story that I'm sure everyone can relate to.

The Reader - 8/10 - I've now seen 4 of the 5 films nominated for best picture (haven't seen Milk), and this was probably the best so far.

40 Year Old Virgin - 6.5/10 - The second half seemed to forget this was supposed to be a comedy.

Taken - 7.5/10 - Just a very solid movie...loved the fast pace.

Gran Torino - 8/10 - I haven't seen much of Eastwood's catalog, but I'm inclined to after this.

Old School - 6/10 - Had a few funny lines, but didn't live up to hype of my friends.

Almost Famous - 6.5/10 - Great soundtrack, but the band could have been a little more interesting.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - 6.5/10 - Like Old School, had some funny parts, but nothing all that memorable.

Step Brothers - 7/10 - Hard to explain but I guess the silliness of this one was more believable than that of Old School.

Se7en - 8/10 - I'm awful at guessing movie endings, but (SPOILERS) figured out his wife would be a victim pretty early on. I was surprised to see how many people thought it was a great twist on IMDb afterward. When the delivery truck pulled up, the phrase Gwyneth Paltrow's head in a box suddenly ran through my head. Not sure where I had heard it but that kind of spoiled that aspect of it as well, but up until that point I was unaware of the ending.

I had seen Seven when it first came out many moons ago and I sort of figured out too what the package would be, but nonetheless it was a well-executed ending.

At any rate, I really want to see Looking For Eric if it's ever released in the US. "I'm not a man, I am Cantona!" Brilliant.

Hell Boy 2 -- surprisingly good little movie. Bit cheesy ending though. Great characters and very interesting story.
7.5 out of 10

The Hangover -- Zack is hilarious but I was forced to sit about 3 rows back from the screen itself. Way too close. For that reason, I'm sure I'll like it better the next time I watch it.
8.5 out of 10

Wall-E -- Visually, one of the best movies I've ever seen.

The Hangover - 9/10 i really dont go to the movies all that often and rarely see comedies in the theater, but for some reason i think it made this movie much funnier for me. everyone was cracking up but not too obnoxiously. the film had a funny plot and some really funny parts but nothing TOO over the top or silly. really, one of the funnier movies ive seen in awhile

Donnie Brasco - 4.5/10 ive heard this is a "must see" guy movie and have always heard really good things. it was average at best and really seemed dated, even though it only came out in '96. ive heard people mention this among films like goodfellas, casino, the departed, etc... and it most definitely does not compare.

I love the entire genre, and Donnie Brasco is actually my favorite of them all. Different strokes. :-b

i love the genre too which is why i found it shockingly not good. it was slightly different than most which i liked but some things, like the lion were just far too bad for me to enjoy. i liked the fact that they werent rolling in money and everything handed to them which is usually how it goes.

to say you liked donnie brasco more than casino or goodfellas is wild. id love to hear the reasons why.

I agree. I love the movie, but it's probably missing a ton of Cameron Crowe's real-life experience. The Carpenters were wilder than Stillwater.

Frost/Nixon-8/10

I can see why Frank Langella was nominated for his role as Nixon in this.
