The Spirit - 1/10
I never do this, but I turned it off somewhere between 12 and 15 minutes in. About the time the two of them were fighting with kitchen sinks, etc. in the mud. Up until that point it was one of the least interesting, most boring things I've ever watched. Maybe it got better, I'll never know.

Angels & Daemons - 7/10
Considering I liked this book better than The DaVinci Code, I was really let down. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I did TDC, although it was still pretty good. It had its moments but overall I wasn't as satisfied as I hoped I would be, or was by the other installment.

I really liked the Dan Brown books and usually if I've read a book and it's made into a movie I go to the theater. But, after Da Vinci Code I'm waiting until DVD. Tom Hanks was not the right choice to play Robert Langdon, or at least he doesn't play him right. I can understand playing a symbologist dry but I think it brings down the movie- the books were fast paced and Da Vinci was extremely slow and boring.

Lawrence of Arabia - 10/10
This is my first time weighing in on this thread, but I watch a lot of movies. I watch a new release pretty much every Tuesday and watch 2-3 movies a week through netflix. I'm a very tough critic and only one other movie I have seen I would rate as a 10 (Godfather), while easily less than a dozen make the cut for a 9. This movie is clearly a masterpiece. Incredibly introspective character analysis for Lawrence. He visibly struggles with his british heritage in contrast to his arab life. His desperate attempts to unite the arab world are plotted against the sacrifices he makes in his own morality. Easily the best 3 hours and 40 minutes I have spent in front of a tv.
In my fridge: Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS), Central Waters Peruvian Morning, Bell's Batch 10,000, Dale's Pale Ale, Capital Brewery Amber, New Glarus Moon Man, and Guinness.

Funny, I saw this a couple of weeks back when I found the DVD in my library and thought I'd give it a whirl because I hadn't seen it almost 10 years (I had the overture stuck in my head too :-b). Lawrence of Arabia is a romanticized account of the real Lawrence, but this film is really a great epic.

The Omega Man (1971)

Interesting, creepy and weird.
I was engaged and entertained the whole way through.

The Will Smith film "I Am Legend" was a remake of this. Interesting to compare what different generations did with the same story.
I like this one better FWIW.

7.9/10
