i enjoy dark comedies

I enjoyed those movies as well, but I don't think I'd ever call them comedies...

hence the term "dark" :-b Storytelling is downright hilarious. that part where the housekeeper keeps telling that little kid her son is a good boy even though he's in jail and he keeps disagreeing with her is classic

Art Vandelay wrote:Dan Lambskin and I have similar taste in comedies, it would seem. Though I'm going to assume that the omission of Dumb and Dumber was accidental, as that's easily a top five comedy. Also Blues Brothers, which is my all-time favorite movie of any genre.

yeah there are definately omissions but i'm not that big on either of those two...what can i say, i'm fickle

Only about an hour long. It's a documentary about the Australian attempts to control the beetle population by importing cane toads from Hawaii then trying to control the toad population when it blew up to over 200 million. When kids discover that you can get high by licking the toads hilarity ensues. The funniest parts are the crazy guy who drives around running over toads and the little girl on the cover who adopted one as her pet.

OK, I got the chance to watch Cane Toads and it's as funny as Mookie made it out to be. It has that Monty Python-like quality about it with the way the movie is paced, the people interviewed all being sincerely eccentric characters, and the choice of music being equally as goofy as the characters. It's still very much a serious documentary, but it doesn't take itself too seriously.

7.5/10

Are you 10 years old? How is it possible that they were made? Date movie $85 million not including DVD. Strangely Meet the Spartans is also $85 million not including DVD. They have no big names in them and cost pennies to make.

lol @ thinking i'm stupid enough that i need you to post that, apparently you didn't quite understand my post. please stop instigating.

Instigating? I'm making candy apples and watching Rescue Heroes.

I've never ever in my entire life instigated. You have never ever in your entire life met anyone more innocent than me.

Very Bad Things is a pretty hilarious dark comedy.

Funny this comes up, I was watching Casino for like the kabillionth time last night and specifically noticed how chalk full of comedy it is. If you pay attention, it strikes a perfect comedic-balance. Not just the lines and how expertly they are delivered, those are great too, but the way in which the whole thing is shot.

Like when Joe Pesci (SP?) takes a showgirl in the back to have a look at the "kitchen" of his restaurant and next thing you know, in one fluid motion and while continuing his superficial conversation, he's in the parking lot opening the car door for her and unzipping his pants. :-b

I have been misquoted :^

I've gotten a few yellows in my day but I have rehabilitated. You guys are enablers just trying to make me backslide. The fact is that I'm actually not instigating, I'm pointing out personality defects for you to work on.
