Manhunter 10/10 - I don't care what anyone says, this movie is the bomb. Manhunter >>>>>>>> Red Dragon. Brian Cox plays better Hannibal Lecter than Anthony Hopkins. And how can you not love this soundtrack?Totally 80s FTW.

It would be one of those things that just knocks the wind out of you...leaves you momentarily numb and in a state of shock, but there really is no point in screaming.

I would give it an 8/10...or a 4/5 if you want to reduce it to its simplest form. :-)

Cool, now do it in base 6. :D

I don't like that movies, commercials and TV shows have become the new medium for non-major label bands to make it big. Radio doesn't know how to market it, mostly because it's being run by people so out of touch with music it's unreal and that's too bad. There's a station here in MN called The Current which markets to aging hipsters and they get a really good response. I don't listen to it a whole lot because it tends to sound pretty similar but I appreciate that they have given a lot of good music a place on the radio.

All of the bands I remember hearing in Juno were from way back....I don't think The Melvins or Sonic Youth needed Juno to "make it big." They did fine well before Juno came out and I think they are perfectly happy with the amount of success they've had. Sonic Youth has been around since 81 and have been signed to major labels. The Melvins have been around since 84 and have been signed to major labels. :-?

Yeah, it's more like mainstream bands whose fans think they're indie, or bands that were very mainstream and are now post-peak but cool to reference because (compared to before) few people listen to them anymore.

Milk

Penn does a fantastic job in his portrayal of gay rights activist Harvey Milk, he deserves all the recognition and acclaim he got for it. The film was a bit disjointed at times and I would have liked to know a bit more about some of the characters but overall it was a great film. Honestly I knew little about Harvey Milk which is actually kind of sad, his story is one everyone should know about. His struggle to unite the gay community and his fight for basic human rights is very touching, it's much more than a "gay rights" story it's a civil rights story. The parallels between Harvey Milk and Martin Luther King Jr. are actually quite staggering. Excellent film - 8.5/10

Milk- 7/10 Could have been great if they surrounded Penn and Brolin with better supporting actors.

Burn After Reading- 6.5/10 I loved Brad Pitt's part and Malkovich was good as usual. However, the screenplay wasn't stellar like usual Coen brothers movies and I really disliked Clooney's character.
