Gerry just sounds like a boring Harold and Kumar wannabe.

"Oh crap! We forgot food and water!"

If only. I actually enjoyed Harold and Kumar (the first one at least, haven't seen the Guantanamo one yet). There are actually a number of 'bad' movies that I've liked: Harold & Kumar, Dude Where's My Car, The Day After Tomorrow, etc. But Gerry is on a whole other level of bad. The fact that it takes itself seriously makes it even worse.

It's worth seeing if only to set a new bar of suckiness as far as movies are concerned. If you watch it you'll forever compare every bad movie you see for the rest of your life to it. Plus it's only a little over an hour and a half long, which is its one saving grace. Actually, I challenge anyone to watch this movie all the way through. I can almost guarantee you'll want to turn it off before it ends. I only watched the whole thing out of spite, and maybe a little bit of disbelief.

Who among you will step up to the Gerry Challenge?

I can't remember it well enough to defend my rating. I do remember it being boring. The viewer really feels like he is lost in the desert so it has that going for it. Also, the cinematography is stunning up until the point where you just don't care anymore. I think that if you rate this movie entirely based on it's entertainment value then I can understand a 1 rating. But I knew going into it based on what I had read that is was more of an experimental film.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Yeah and IMDB has it at 6/10 but in both cases I think this is due to the 'art house crowd', which I imagine is really the target audience, recognizing technical achievements more than any enjoyment they experience watching two guys wander the desert for two hours or whatever it was.

This is absolutely true. At the beginning I was thinking, "wow, this is a boring, slow movie, but it has some stunning visuals." Then by the mid-point I was thinking "someone stab me in the eye with a fork."
