In regard to the Oscar nominations, well I've seen 3 of the films nominated for Best Picture, and I felt The Wrestler was better than all of them. I also don't really understand why Aronofsky wasn't nominated either.

He probably didn't expect Johnny Depp to be singing.

I knew it was a musical going into it, though, and I liked it.

Started off with singing (UGH :-P ) and near darkness (pet peeve of mine in movies) fast forwarded a little, kept singing and more darkness, me and my g/f looked at each other and I turned it off.

It was the perfect storm of things I hate, and I had moderate expectations going in. :-°

I never walked out of a theater for a movie, though I would have probably during Thin Red Line if it were an option.

I did turn off Sweeney Todd after about 3 minutes because I also had no idea it was a musical.

Milk- 9/10

A great movie, well deserved in it`s Oscar Nom. for Best Picture... I thought Mickey Rourke and The Wrestler were unmatched this year in terms of Best Pic and Actor(for those interested, i hated Slumdog Millionaire), but Sean Penn`s portrayal of gay politician and activist Harvey Milk has proved me wrong. You watch Penn in something like Mystic River then go and watch this, and you won`t believe it`s the same actor. Really a great movie for everyone to see, and since The Wrestler didnt get a nomination for Best Picture,I`m now hoping this film will get it.

The Big Lebowski
Reservoir Dogs
Band of Brothers (if you would call this a movie)

the only one of these that i've seen is the big lebowski. not a big fan of it but i can see why it became somewhat of a cult classic.

You need to see Reservoir Dogs and Band of Brothers. BoB isn't really a movie, but it's incredible.

Reservoir Dogs has the best first 10 minute intro to any movie. The only other flim to come close is Full Metal Jacket.
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...

Again, another plug for City on Fire, the film that inspired Reservoir Dogs. Plus, it has Chow Yun-Fat which is extra incentive to rent it.
