how on earth can anyone be so turned off to Bourne Identity that they walk out?

I can understand Taxi Driver, No Country, and Grand Tourino because they were really slow and either it drew you in or didn't. I can also understand Hot Fuzz because it was so different than anything else - really dry British satire. But I can't understand hating Bourne Identity that much. It was non-stop action espionage. You couldn't possibly have been bored. Did the fast action give you epilepsy?

except when you actually watch it every other scene is them sitting in one spot just talking with nothing else going on. they follow one linear plot the entire way through, and have to stop between every action scene to explain whats going on. a scene where two people are sitting in a car and just talking for 10 minutes with absolutely nothing else going on kinda turns me off to a movie.

I am a fan of some abstract artsy stuff when it comes to movies, music and art, but I can easily enjoy a film for it's entertainment like Shoot 'Em Up. I know it isn't a good movie in the geneal term, however, I found entertaining for what it was. It reminds me of a new-age spaghetti western.

i posted it a few pages ago but i'll put the list up again.

off the top of my head and not really in any particular order:
Shawshank Redemption
Gladiator
Ratatouille (Really anything by Pixar pretty much owns)
Se7en
Glory
Star Wars trilogy
Indiana Jones trilogy

some of my recent favorites are:
The Dark Knight
Tropic Thunder
Superbad
Juno

I like and love all of those movies, except the Star Wars trilogy and the last Indiana Jones (of the original 3).

My favorites are:
The Bicycle Thief
Wild Bunch
The Big Lebowski
Reservoir Dogs
Band of Brothers (if you would call this a movie)
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...

the only one of these that i've seen is the big lebowski. not a big fan of it but i can see why it became somewhat of a cult classic.

Aye, very good film. I also like the Hong Kong film that actually inspired Quentin Tarantino to make Reservoir Dogs, called City on Fire.

gran torino (only time i've ever actually walked out of the theater)
hot fuzz
taxi driver
no country for old men
bourne identity

wow those were so bad, it tilts me just thinking about them.

I really like NCFOM. ;-D

I've never walked out of a theatre (because it has to usually be an absolute lock for me to get off my a__ and go to one), from memory we've turned off these.......

Sweeney Todd (time played: 3 minutes)
Evita (30 minutes)
Natural Born Killers (can't remember was 10 years ago)
The Second New Star Wars (bad pirate copy - AAARRRRRRRR matey - but it also totally sucked. 20? minutes)

There's a few more that I can't remember, pretty much all the ones we've turned off have been selected by my g/f - it is a running joke in our house :-D .

Dan Lambskin wrote:Pineapple Express well i shut it off after about 45 minutes because it was so terrible. it was basically just Seth Rogan and James Franco running around like idiots and screaming loudly. i just couldnt take anymore. i was watching the Extended version, so maybe it had extra yelling and running around and the rest of the movie was good, but i just didnt have it in me to find out (the wife was even less impressed)

I loved Pineapple Express. Funniest movie I'd seen in a long, long time.
