LOTR sucked as well, each movie was way too drawn out and really boring

List your top 5 movies than...

off the top of my head and not really in any particular order:
Shawshank Redemption
Gladiator
Ratatouille
Se7en
Glory
Star Wars trilogy
Indiana Jones trilogy

some of my recent favorites are:
The Dark Knight
Tropic Thunder
Superbad

pretty much all movies which are actually good.

I thought that Tropic Thunder and Superbad were pretty bad movies

Cool, again just try to enjoy it for what it is though without comparing it to newer films like it. Remember films like it paved the way for the ones you enjoy today. Also like Art said you should also check out The Bridge on the River Kwai and The Guns of Navarone. Both awesome films. ;-D

Add my all-time favourite to that list: Lawrence of Arabia.

Guns of Navarone really rocked ;-D You can also add Das Boot and The Great Escape to the list.

I love war movies.

That's because you have no sense of humour, Mookie. ;-)

You two amuse me like Koko B. Ware amused Andre the Giant, like the Philly secondary amused Larry Fitzgerald, like the Bruins amuse the Canadiens.

The Bridge on the River Kwai was a great movie, that did something few movies can manage today (not ruing a great book, The Bridge ove the the River Kwai).

Or the Raptors amuse the Celtics.

The Bruins are way better than the Canadiens. They've beaten them 3 times this year, I believe, including once last week.

We've got Marion now, so we'll be totally unstoppable.

Forrest Gump is an amazing movie whoever said it, it was the first one of its kind.

Like compare the "good" movies of today to the "good" movies of old, and you cannot do it.

ala Crash,Cast Away, Dark Knight.

Compared to...
Taxi Driver, Godfater 1 and 2, Animal House etc...

They are movies for their time, and they are movies that fit their mold of that generation.
I am 19 and understand the older set of movies and their reasoning, I also understand the new movies and peoples fascination with them.

By the way, A Clockwork Orange is a very sick flick, and one of the best psychopathic movies ever. ;-D
