Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Tropic Thunder are very close for me. I actually really enjoyed Stepbrothers, but it definitely wasn't as good as those two. I have yet to see Pineapple Express and Role Models, though I'm looking forward to both.

Assassination of Jesse James - 5/10 - a bit slow and long but a solid story. First time I watched it fell asleep but stayed up this time.

On a scale of one to exactly the same, how close was it to Liar Liar? The two movies follow the same form of "Jim Carrey plays a guy who [bad habit]s a lot and hurts his friends and family, but [mystical reason] makes him only [opposite of bad thing] which leads to wacky situations". It's like Hollywood Mad Libs.

I guarantee you this movie was pitched to the studio execs as "this is basically Liar Liar 2..."

Well Liar Liar is absolutely hilarious, so I'll see Yes Man at some point.

Yeah I actually didn't make the connection until talking about the movie afterward with some friends...haven't seen Liar Liar in ages but its gotta be at least a 6 or 7 in terms of similarity.

wall-e was good, but pixar has set the bar so high they just didn't deliver for me this time like they have in the past.

ratatoullie
the incredibles
toy story
toy story 2

were all better by a fairly large margin imo.
