This movie is so dated it's almost like an unintentional comedy. It has shades of racism and sexism that were kind of around at the time (going by my grandparents attitudes).

Favourite quote:

Bond smacks his girlfriend on the butt and says "Run along, men talking." Hilarious. :-b

Sean Connery's views on smacking women

Haha hilarious. Dinosaurs like him crack me up.

Diamonds Are Forever 7/10

I really enjoyed this one. After the crap that was on last week, they really pulled their socks up.
Big/elaborate sets, hot women, Sean Connery (no George Lazenby :-° ), a good Blofeld, a pair of creepy bad guys, corny jokes, I found this one to be very really entertaining and I was sad when it finished.

His love interest in this one was (in my book) very hot in a MILFy kind of way. :-L

Spoiler comment (if you haven't seen it)...........

The only big let down in this one was that the big evil satellite weapon can be stopped by ejecting a cassette. WTF?

Live And Let Die 4/10

Very disappointing. It was like the writers were on an acid trip.
The bad guy was reasonable, Roger Moore was decent, and Jane Seymour was definitely hot back in the day, but the writing sucked balls.

It got so bad that half way through the movie it turned into the Dukes Of Hazzard With Speedboats for half an hour. (I'm not joking).

Only worth your time if you have a good fast forward button.

DAF was actually the first Bond film I had seen as a kid. You Only Live Twice was second. So, the funny thing was when I watched the latter, I had an "oh crap" moment when Blofeld from DAF (Charles Gray) opened the door and I was saying Henderson (Gray's character) is Blofeld? Holy moly. 8-o :-b

Well, it's not the only tongue-and-cheek Bond film that Roger Moore starred in (in fact, all of the Moore films were), but it's just that LALD was more of a 70's cliche that for some people, thought had racial undertones and poked fun at the Southern US (in the form of the greatest Bond minor character of all, JW Pepper). That said, it was a really enjoyable movie where the comic relief actually jells well.

Reviews are poor? 78% on RT and 8.2 on IMDB. It's hilarious.

I read articles on 2 major news sites just the other day each of which basically said it was a dud, and the reviews from the "professionals" on Yahoo were uninspiring. The overall B- from the Yahoo proletariat doesn't help, either.

Probably doesn't help that I'm not a fan of most Coen stuff, either.

I have also read poor reviews of this movie. I'll probably end up seeing it sometime in the next few weeks, but I won't have high expectations for it. Glad to see that at least someone liked the movie. :-)

Burn After Reading- 9/10
The Coen brothers are nuts, but in a good way.
They go from NCFOM to this.
It is great on how broad they can be.
George Clooney does a great job and Pitt is funny.
I really enjoyed it and thought it was a good watch and worth admission.

I gave it a 6. I thought the premise was good and the effects were nice. Love post-apocalyptic movies.

They're some of my favorite movies too but there was nothing about this film I liked. The premise is what intrigued me but it failed to deliver. The dialog was awful, and the acting was even worse. There were some interesting effects I'll give you that but they were so far and few in between I was left annoyed and disappointed.
