Anchor Man 11/10. One of the funniest movies of all time.

Too many funny parts to even start mentioning but I will anyway.

How San deeago [sic] was named.

When Will calls Christina a filthy pirate hooker and threatens to punch her in the ovaries during the commerical break. :-b

Shaun of the Dead 8/10

What a hilarious genre splitting movie this turned out to be, I can't believe I hadn't seen it yet.

Very interesting movie. The dialogue was little weak - but Pitt and Freeman were both good. The ending brought it down for me.

I really liked the ending, myself, and I thought it was one of the strong points of that movie.

I just read an article today that said Guillermo del Toro was offered the director's job before Fincher and turned it down because of the ending. Crazy. I liked the ending too.

I thought the ending made the movie very good to great personally. With out that ending it's fairly cliche on what other ending you could of had.

Se7en did that and I have to say I wasn't a fan - the ending just left we with a "the world sucks" kind of feeling. It was one of those movies were you are in a bad mood after watching it and you don't talk for 10-15 minutes.

Funny though, the point or the ending result to me was to talk about what happened and I think it gave way to interesting conversation about society, etc. Real life isn't hollywood endings, in fact it rarely if ever is, it's far to complicated than just say the good guy wins. Because really who is the good guy, it's usually all of a matter of perception of what's going on.

People that don't like that movie have a bad sense of humor. Brick, where'd you get a hand grenade? I don't know... Classic. :-D

By far, Steve Caroll's best role ever. I lol'd at every one of his scenes.

I was watching this movie with a bunch of people a few months ago, and almost nobody laughed at Carell's quotes, which surprised me. They were my favourite parts of it. ;-D '

You're right, it not only was a strong point of the movie, it basically made the movie what it was.

What was it that he didn't like about it?

I mean...Pan's Labyrinth had a fairly depressing ending in a way, but maybe that wasn't what Del Toro had an issue with in Seven.

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT

Every time I see the cliche "Hollywood" ending - I always say how I'd like to see movies do something different with the end. Se7en did that and I have to say I wasn't a fan - the ending just left we with a "the world sucks" kind of feeling. Ummm this movie is the opposite of a "Hollywood" ending.

*** SPOLIER ***

A "Hollywood" version of Se7en would have Pitt saving his wife and his unborn son from the killer just in time. Then they lived happily ever after with the evil killer put away for life.

Del Toro wrote:I rightfully said no to Se7en, because it was a great script but it was a very cynical view of the world. I loved it, I wanted to see it, but I’m a romantic, fat bastard and I don’t subscribe to that view.

I think with Pan's, it was sad but still uplifting. Seven was pretty damn dark.
