OneLoveBoomer wrote:Pursuit of Happyness 8.5/10. Really great acting by Smith and his kid, and apparently the story sticks closely to the truth of what Gardiner did.

But, it kind of needs like an intermission halfway through. He has to deal with a lot of junk, one thing after another, and it can be stressful to even watch at points. Great movie though.

I thought this movie was really kind of boring...good acting, yes, but considering the subject matter, I feel like I should have been really happy for the guy by the end, when in fact that wasn't the case at all, I really just didn't care.

I have to agree with you here. It didn't end well. I would have rather them take out some depressing scenes, and add some to the end, seeing what he ended up acheiving after all of his struggles.

Agreed. I was hoping for some post-suckiness happy times scenes.

Good movie but I saw the ending a mile away and it took me about 45 minutes to get over Ed Norton's accent.

Yeah, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either, was it?

Unfortunately, I didn't think The Prestige was that much better because they, too, telegraphed their ending way too far in advance.

Watched Ballad of Ricky Bobby last night. I like Will Ferrell and the movie had its spots, but not as good as I was expecting. 6/10 maybe.

edit - I guess the real title was Talledega (sp?) Nights, not Ballad of Ricky Bobby. :-B

Just finished watching one of my all time favorites:

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - 10/10

I must have seen this about a dozen times and it never gets old.

Yeah that's a classic. I actually prefer Snatch by a little but own them both on DVD. Revolver was a huge disappointment to me.

Lady in the Water 1/10

Even after the credits finished rolling I was still waiting for something... for anything.

Lucky Number Sleven 9/10

This movie completely caught me by surprise. The doofy title and character names had me thinking the worst, but the plot really did it for me. I completely suggest it.

My thoughts too. It should have been called "The Conclusionist".

I liked the ending of "The Prestige" without giving anything away.
