Taxi Driver is a great movie. Besides that, the Godfather (I and II) and The Shining, I haven't really seen many acclaimed movies from the 70's and feel like I should.

Taxi Driver may be one of the worst movies i've ever seen. for the first 90 minutes theres like no plot, and the main character basically walks around having pointless conversations which lead nowhere. we have no clue why hes such an emo baby or why he does anything he does and it just doesnt go anywhere.

While I think it's one of Scorcese's best movies.

It's #2 for me, behind Goodfellas.

Saw IronMan today. Very good 8/10

Starts slowly as you would expect from a superhero movie as they have to introduce the characters and explain how he gets his powers. Even so, the non-action story-building part of the movie is much better than your average superhero movie. The action is good but it is at the end and the movie ends just as it starts to get really good. It leaves you wanting more but they really set up the sequel even going so far as to show an even newer suit that Terrence Howard will probably wear in the sequel.

The one criticism is that the bad guys don't really have a motivation or a purpose. The arabic baddies are generic, have no motivation other than being evil and are so ill-defined that at one point one character points out that they are speaking Hungarian (but of course they are hiding in caves in the middle east and look very muslim).

Casting is incredible.

Saw Iron Man myself and while I also enjoyed it I just wanted to clarify a couple things Mook and Y said.

#1, I think the suit Mook is referring to that Howard saw wasn't exactly a new suit but rather the original, un-painted prototype Stark before the paintjob. If it was a newer, and theoretically better suit, wouldn't it stand to reason that Stark would use that one himself?

#2, Yes Sam Jackson has a cameo in the movie but I'm not quite sure he's going to be in an IM sequel.....

***(((SPOILER ALERT))))***

More likely his appearance is foreshadowing an expected Avengers movie, as I've heard he will also have the same cameo in the upcoming Hulk, Captain America and Thor movies, rallying the troops so to speak..
