I saw Seraphim Falls with Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson. I REALLY like westerns but this one gets the big thumbs down. I give it 5/10 because the cinematography is on par with the great modern westerns and because when the dialogue is good, both Brosnan and Neeson are great, as you'd probably expect. However, the story has been told a hundred times before and they don't even follow the formula correctly. Not following the formula can be a good thing but when it doesn't work it's pretty bad.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

My roommate bought Memento, and I watched it for the 3rd time in the last few months. It gets even better with additional viewings, I seem to pick up so many different things every time I watch. Nolan really knew what he was doing when he made this one.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I just watched it again. I'm sure most of you have seen it.

I like the concept, and there are some good parts, but on the whole the movie kinda drags. I still have problems with Jim Carey as a serious character. It's probably just my personal problem, but every "serious" part he has done has just stunk.

Very very disappointing ending. A potentially good movie got really corny and stupid.

I loved this movie 10/10, one of my favorites in a long time. Here is why I loved the ending, I would love to hear your feedback as to why you didn't like the ending.

I really liked the movie until the end. The thing that made the movie good was the evilness of Crowe's character. He was a perfectly believable self-centred bad guy. He had no conscience and had an almost superhero killing ability.

In the end though he completely unbelievably throws it all away and kills his entire gang because he wants Bale's character's son to respect him?!?!? What a stupid hollywood ending. Everything about that character that I had previously liked I now hated. The guy that killed one of his captors with a dinner fork turned out to be a typical hollywood charicature sap.

And then there is Bale. One minute they are crouched down in a building pinned down by snipers and a dozen people shooting at them, but once he gets Crowe on the train he is able to relax and give a satisfied job-well-done smile and just stand there with a dozen people shooting at him. Of course he is going to get shot. How frikin stupid. Did he suddenly have a death wish? Is getting himself shot going to get his son to respect him any more?

From the begining of the dash from the hotel room to the train the movie sucked and ruined what to that point had been a good western. It turned out to be Unforgiven with a Disney ending.

I agree with you to a degree about the ending. However, the relationship between Bale and Crowe is what made the movie. Sometimes an ending will make or break a story but this wasn't one of them, for me.

I read an interview with Elmore Leonard and he had problems with the film. A lot of them mirrored your own. Although, I wouldn't call it a Disney ending since Bale's character dies and Crowe kills off all of his own men. :-D

Wal-Mart..The high cost of low price.

Kinda slow, but sure is an eye opener for wives of those of us who hate that store and everything about it. I can't stand the store, what it doesn't to small town America, and the families that have lived and prospered there for years and years. Tax burdens that we the public share due the the red carpet rolled out for Sam Walton's rebelious child. This store is nothing like he envisioned. The conditions the workers in China/Mexico endure to make a toy for $0.07 that my wife pay's $15.99 for.

I hate Wal-Mart and hope you all will join myself in no gracing the doorstep of the beast. My wife has now sworn off of that store now too. ;-D ;-D ;-D

Great movie if that is all it does for me. 10/10

I saw Drillbit Taylor last night with the gf.
And if you can keep the comparisions away from superbad then it is an enjoyable movie.
It was funny but then again childish at times.
