That ending seemed logical to me. There were tons of secrets, and once one of them was exposed, the natural cascade of violence and retribution followed. The only thing about the ending that bothered me was the sheer number of headshots.[/quote]

right, and thats usually the standpoint that i hear. for example my dad said he was really into it but then he didnt like all the killings of the main characters at the end. it just made sense that when everything was exposed it would all hit the fan. i was unbelievably shocked at the elevator scene. (dont wanna ruin it for anyone else). and dont worry, no badgering here. thats what this thread is all about, discussion.

I'm not saying it wasn't logical, I just felt it was all crammed in and felt rushed. But to each their own...it's still a great movie. ;-D

As I've said before in this thread, I felt that the last kill was completely unnecessary to the plot (and from what I understand, it was a modification of what happened in Infernal Affairs). That isn't to say I didn't like the movie or the ending, though, I did.

Javier Bardem will at least be nominated for an Oscar.

I hope so, really good performance.

I've had more time to think about this movie since I watched it a few days ago, and I like the ending more than I originally thought I did. It's the first time in a while where my expectations haven't been let down after going to a theatre.

Yeah, I was really happy with the ending. Without spoiling anything, I loved how it kept to the the book and reflected a decision made by one of the film's major characters in the 2nd half of the movie.

Well that's just like, your opinion man.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I think that the terminology changes if it's in the ass. That's getting capped, not shot.

Great campy movie featuring a young David Carridine as well as a young Sly Stallone. This movie is NOT to be taken seriously. After all, it is about people killing bystanders in cars as a national sport.

It's a hand grenade!

that movie rules

I've never read the book, but I'll be sure to do so now. ;-D
