The Hitcher:

It was a kind of clichéd movie (dark stranger jumps out at teens from lots of dark places) , but it was a bit better then the normal movies with this formula.

Positives......

Sean Bean is always good

One of the deaths should get a nominee for death of the year.

Sophia Bush is hot! ;-D ;-D ;-D ;-D She gets 4½ out of 5 herself.

Negatives....

The bad guy has absolutely no rhyme or reason as to why he is doing what he is doing.

The ending , as usual with recent movies I have watched , really really sucked.

It was like one writer wrote the first 4/5ths of the movie and then a retarded gorilla started writing when they took the bad guy into police custody.

6½/10

Could have been so much better. If it had kept up the start 8½ - 9.

Solid flick done in traditional Coen Fargo style. Great characters and not a complaint abot the acting. There are some loose ends left during the movie, but none that are needed for the story, though some people might want them tied up. I would advise that people pay attention to conversations that don't appear to be going anywhere b/c you might miss something, like the end of the movie.

Just curious, where did you see it at? Cause I know right now it's a pretty limited release.

I am so looking forward to this movie. It looks to me like a cross between O Brother and Millers Crossing - is that about right?

Is it just me, or is anyone else looking forward to a lot of movies coming out over the next few months? My want-to-see list includes:

No Country For Old Men
There Will Be Blood
I'm Not There
Be Kind Rewind
Cloverfield/1/18/08/whatever else it is being called
Beowulf (partly because there is supposed to be a new 'Cloverfield' trailer attached)
I Am Legend
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (Judd Apatow)
Charlie Wilson's War

Chicago. 2 near me had it. One was the big AMC and the other was a Landmark that typically shows indie, foreign, and small-budget stuff.

Never saw O Brother and I've forgotten a lot of Miller's Crossing, but there is definitely a heavy Fargo feel to it.

Javier Bardem does the best job of any of the actors by far. Seriously creepy stuff, but funny at times too. He speak excellent english in the movie, but the way he has to mask his spanish accent ends up creating an awesome accent of its own that is perfect and impossible to duplicate if he was a native speaker.

I haven't seen any previews yet for No Country For Old Men, but is if safe to assume that it's based on the book of the same name?

I am not really expecting a great movie, I more just admire the way this movie has been advertised. Compared to the other movies I listed, it is for sure on the bottom, and if I was to have to choose between that movie and something like There Will Be Blood, I would for sure bypass 'Cloverfield.'

It is. From what I have heard it is supposed to be pretty faithful to the book, which I am going to go buy and read before I see the movie in a couple weeks. Here's a preview for the movie: http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/nocountryforoldmen/trailer3/

spiderman 3 - 3/10 - over two hours of snorefest. Fell asleep in the middle and barely finished the movie. I guess if you are under 10 yes old then this might be appealing. Horrible at best

American Gangsta - I'm a big fan of Denzel Washington, Russel Crowe and Ridley Scott, but this movie just didn't live up to the hype for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good, just not great. I thought it would have a little more action in it based on the previews, where in actuality it was just a well-acted 2 1/2 hour long drama. I want a gangsta movie to have gangsta sh!t in it, you know? This one would have been just as good on DVD.

8/10 (B-)

Oh, and I'm super excited about "No Country For Old Men" also. Not showing in Tallahassee yet.
