Perfect Stranger - 3/10 - Not to be confused with the popular 80s comedy show Perfect Strangers... Thankfully I didn't spend money to see it as my neighbor gave it to us to watch before they returned it. With a cast of Berry, Willis, Rabisi, you would think that this movie would be at least decent. Horrible script, overacting and unbelievable storyline made this one of the worst movies I've seen this year. Partly due to the expectations since everyone we know who has seen it, raved about it.

Agreed. That movie was a pathetic waste of time. I don't understand how you can have a cast like that and screw up a movie so badly. :-P

Just got done watching American Gangster, I would post the link, but I'm not sure where the site comes down on those sorts of things, and I rather not get banned.

Anyways, great movie, fantastic acting(who would of guessed right with two Oscar winning leads), right up any fan of gangster/mob movie fan's alley. Everything was just well put together, the story built slowly, but I never lost interest, the characters Crowe and Washington play both feel very authentic, which is very important obviously because it is based on a true story. There is only one scene that I would say is solely used to build drama within the movie, and is unrealistic, but the film does such a great job at keeping everything realistically that the particular scene does hang in your mind through the whole story. There is an interesting bit of irony between the two leads, based on their character, they replicate the general feeling of just a corrupt sleazy state of affairs within the police force, once again without going overboard and seeming unrealistic. The entire movie does a good job of incorporating the time period, where it acts more than just a background, but a piece of the puzzle. I highly recommend this movie, also for those that enjoy it, and wish to watch a movie based more solely from the perspective of Crowe's character, "Serpico" too is of the same material that Crowe's character deals with and is an even better movie than this, also based on a true story.

9/10 Great Movie

Stranger than Fiction: 6/10.

Am I psychotic, or is Maggie Gyllenhaal hot?

Exactly! All "Secretary" fans should see it. Smokin; although it's not nearly as good as the scene of her eating the peas..

its funny you should mention how "authentic" you say the two main characters were, because i know a lot of reviews and critiques that i've read about the movie is how it isnt really authentic at all, which is to be expected for a big budget hollywood movie. still, its a very solid movie.
