I've been catching up on a bunch of movies out on DVD during my traveling. I guess I've either been watching bad movies or I'm getting too hard to impress. I can't remember the last movie I've seen that I would rate higher than a 5.
Black Dahlia 2/10
I couldn't even make it through half of the movie. I expect much better from De Palma.
Dead Man's Chest 4/10 2.5 hours? 45 minutes of action? Ouch. Davey Jones looked cool at least.
Superman Returns 4/10 Better special effects than the 80s version is no surprise. What was a surprise was that they found a way to make the story less appealing.
World Trade Center 2/10 Alot like Dahlia, I expect much better from Oliver Stone. 2 hours of two guys trapped and in pain and one psychotic Marine. I didn't think a story about a national tragedy could put me to sleep.
Mission Impossible III 3/10 Best part of the movie is that they have technology to steal a person's looks/voice from a couple photos in under 5 minutes, they have remote controled gatlin guns, and all sorts of other high tech gadgets but they don't have a defibrilator that can charge up in under a minute.
Click 2/10 I had pretty decided that Sandler movies weren't worth watching anymore. Now I'm sure of it.

Geez, Louise! Is there a movie you do like? BTW, I almost compared An American Haunting to Tailor of Panama. I didn't, but I know you'll appreciate that comparison.
Can I put in recent movies I saw, too? Thanks.
United 93: I can't give this movie high enough reviews. If I had to pick a movie that I would say I will show to my children to explain what it was like that day, I'd pick this movie.
DeJa Vu: Prepostorous and bad. Very bad.

Pursuit of Happyness? Well, we now know who wears the pants in the Big Pimp's house...
Just got back from We Are Marshall. 6/10
Good movie but probably best left for DVD. Disappointed because I expected it to be great but the pace is horrible. McConaughey was excellent as Coach Lengyel.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Hell yes there are. But everything I've seen lately has been utter crap. If a movei studio wants to impress me, give me a heartwarming tale of a man and his boomstick.
