Text Help!!!

I just started trying to make some sigs on GIMP, and im having trouble with the Texts. I went to acidfonts.com, and found a few fonts that i like, but where do u save them too?

i tried to save them to the fonts in GIMP, but every time i try to open them, GIMP just shuts down.

any suggestions?

I think Gimp just uses the fonts that are installed on your computer.

To install new fonts on your computer-

Settings --> Control Panel

Open the Fonts folder inside the Control Panel

Drag and drop any of the font files you want added to your system inside that folder. Make sure they are in the correct format though- True Type Font or something similar (the font's icon should look similar to the ones already in your computer's font file).

Then when you choose a font in any program you're using, the new fonts should be available in the list.
