Not at all. Numbers are numbers. Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro, etc. They should all be in the HOF. Their numbers certainly warrant it. If Belle had the numbers of a HOFer, he should have been in too. In my opinion, his numbers don't quite stack up, though.

Fortunately that's an EXTREME minority opinion.

I don't mean that it should be IMPOSSIBLE for someone to get in despite "substances."
But fortunately not too many VOTERS feel it's not a factor.

I think that it's completely UNFORTUNATE that the greatest hitter of any of our lifetimes will likely not get into the HOF on the 1st ballot. But to each his own, I guess.

True, but you brought up the issue of steroids. I simply said that PEDs should be a non-factor when determining whether Belle is a HOF player or not. Belle is probably not a HOFer, but it's because his numbers are just shy, not because he may have used PEDs.
