Nothing official yet but I hear on the radio we have the highest bid and it sounds likely we will get him for 4yrs/45mil 8-o

We also released fatty(Runylves) Hernandez as well. Good riddance!!

Well, in the Royals' defense, they pretty much have to overpay to attract anyone there. This contract is definitely bad, but they didn't have much of a choice if they really wanted to sign a FA pitcher.

ESPN's Steve Phillips reports that the Royals and right-hander Gil Meche have agreed to terms on a five-year deal.
That's new. Phillips and FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal previously reported that it'd be a four-year, $45 million contract. No word on the new terms yet.
