What is it about Dumb and Dumber that makes some people hate it?

probably because it's just toliet humor

That's a severe overexaggeration. There's one bit of toilet humor when Lloyd gives Harry the laxative (which was a hilarious scene, I might add). That's pretty much it. And jeez, what's wrong with toilet humor anyway? One of them funniest movies ever that's pretty well respected, involves people jumping out of a pool, screaming about a suspected turd floating around, as well as a large bet on whether a kid will pick his nose and then subsequently, eat it. Movies don't have to be "smart humor" to make people laugh. That's all I'm saying.

mweir does make a good point... eating boogers, as gross as it is, can be quite funny.

It just never gets old.

Dumb and Dumber is still really funny but it is just one of those movies where it will never be funnier than the first time I watched it. There's Something About Mary is the same way to me. There is nothing wrong with it but I just don't think it has the rewatchablity of some of these other comedies.
