Any advice out there?

League specifics:

5x5 roto league
12 teams
$250 team cap
Auction draft
10 keepers per year
3 year contracts before FA


I traded quite a bit last season for lower cost keepers with at least 1 year left on their contract as I had a fairly bad draft. I did end up actually capturing 3rd place last year but definitely have greater plans for next season. My question is who occupies my last 2 keeper spots. I have the following players as being my definite keepers:

Howard - $5 - 1 year left
Utley - $5 - 1 year left
Johjima - $5 - 2 years left
Holliday - $5 - 2 years left
Delmon Young - $5 - 2 years left
Berkman - $18 - 1 year left
Fielder - $11 - 2 years left
Webb - $15 - 1 year left

I have the following list I think should give me my last 2 keepers:

Weeks - $5 - 2 years left
Bedard - $5 - 2 years left
Willingham - $5 - 2 years left
A. Ramirez - $28 - 2 years left
Zumaya - $5 - 2 years left
D. Wheeler - $5 - 2 years left
Schmidt - $21 - 1 year left
Taveras - $5 - 2 years left

Prett much leaning towards keeping Weeks and Bedard as I would like to not have to draft a whole SP staff almost at the draft and I think Weeks will give me the best overall bang for the buck next year.

Hoping anybody who's interested can tell me their opinion on which 2 they would keep and also what they expect out of those 2 keepers stat-wise.

Woops...Berkman is actually $18 for only 1 more year.

Well to me it is 2 of Weeks, Bedard or Ramirez. Is the $28 tag too high because that would appear to me to be a reasonable price for one of the top 3B producers? He usually goes in the top 3-4 rounds in any draft of 12 teams.

I like Bedard simply becuase you don't have any other SPs and I'm not sold on Weeks yet.

In our league HR/RBI is definitely more sought after and competitive than SB. However, Ramirez probably wouldn't go for any more than $28 in our auction so I was thinking right now that I could always pick him back up again if I needed to. My thoughts now are my team has a pretty good start on HR/RBI for next year and perhaps Weeks would be a good overall keeper due to a bit of both power and speed and much better price tag. I also liked Bedard so I would get to keep basically an ace SP in Webb and a decent 2nd tier SP in Bedard.

with your current team, you have a payroll of only 69 dollars for next year, sick.I think you have to go with this:

C Johjima
1B Howard
2B Utley
SS
3B take Ramirez at $28
OF Holliday
OF Delmon Young
OF Berkman
UTIL Fielder

SP Webb
SP Bedard at $5

when you add their salaries to your current payroll of $69, it comes out to 112. you can take that money to go out and get a good SS, hopefully that gets you steals and a couple of closers.

I would keep Weeks and Bedard. You'll have plenty of money to get A-Ram back if you wanted to.

I think Weeks is going to break out this year.
I can see .275 25 home runs 30 steals

Bedard 14 wins, 3.80 era, 1.27 whip 175 strike outs.

I'd like Bedard better if he wasn't in the AL East, but he's a nice young pitcher with some upside.
