The impact of the explosion was so severe the barrel of one of the cannons landed three and a half miles away.

it's weird how underpublicized this event is. i've heard about this discussed publically maybe 3 or 4 times in my whole life. i guess it has something to do with a lack of photos, but still, you figure something of this magnitude would be discussed a lot.

We went on a tour of Halifax on my honeymoon. They showed us some rare buildings that existed before the explosion. Most of them were wiped out. I also saw a Halifax before and after picture in one of the tourist stops. Pretty crazy.
