Nick Lachey tries hand at owning baseball team
Singer buys part of Tacoma Rainiers, Mariners’ Class AAA club
TACOMA, Wash. - Singer Nick Lachey says he jumped at the opportunity to be a part owner of the Tacoma Rainiers with Schlegel Sports.
He says he intends to play an active role in the ownership.
The pop singer who was once married to Jessica Simpson, wore the Rainiers' jersey as he was introduced today in Tacoma. He'll own a third of the baseball franchise.

The Rainiers are the Seattle Mariners' Class AAA club in the Pacific Coast League. As part of the sale, the new owners signed a two-year lease and affiliation agreement.
The new owners say Lachey will be involved in developing entertainment for families, including concerts and autograph sessions.
