My first league in 10 yrs... The league just completed its first season. Auction mixed league with contract yr plus an option year which you can extend the contract costing $3 for every year the contract is extended beginning in the 3rd year. Salary cap 260.

It is 16 team 5x5 Head to Head... I finished the year about .500. I was dominated on offense but able to win games when my pitching was consistent for the most part.

I pretty much have an idea what I'm going to do but was curious who you would keep and other thoughts? (FYI... all owners are members of the cafe) I can keep as many as I want as long as its under the salary cap. I already released some obvious players.

Stephen Drew I'm moving up to SS for $1(1st yr under contract). Adam Loewen also will be moving up for a $1. Any other minor leaguers will have to be moved up or released if end up on major league opening day roster.

You defintely need an upgrade in the hitting part. I'm pretty sure that I would not keep a $15 Veritek or an $15 Isringhausen while an $18 Tracey and a $7 Gomes seem pretty marginal. I think you could be able to get better output for all 4 from other players for less $.

If you threw those 4 players back into the pot, your salary is about $137 leaving $123 to fill some holes. Assuming you start Drew and Loewen you actually got $121 to play with. You should be able to find a decent C for under $5. I'd target 3 good hitters (CI, OF and DH) and be prepared to spend about $75-$80 for those players. You probably need 2 more SPs and a good RP. the remaining $ could be directed there without getting into a bidding war for any of them.

varitek is tough at that price, as is gomes. depending on when your rosters are due, lind and fields masy be starters by the end of spring training
