in my minors at present I have
Josh Fields, Homer Bailey and Evan Longoria and I have been strongly looking at Nick Adenhart and as Ive been reading more about Fields lack of a solid glove and high strikeout prognosis's and his moving to the OF, I am thinking of dropping Fields for Adenhart.
What do you guys think?
My pitching is pretty solid now and also hitting so there isnt much "need" in filling either category, just want to know which would be best for my teams future.

C- Martin
1B- Pujols
2B- Kendrick
3B- Zimmerman
SS- Ramirez
OF- Bay
OF- Soriano
OF- Baldelli
U- Tex
Reserve- Ethier
Not only do you have Zimmerman, who is stellar, but Josh Fields, while a nice prospect, is a marginal pro player at best who if you take a look at similar projectionable players, looks to be a .260-.270 type hitter, top end, with a K rate that dictates not only a low spot on the order, but correspondingly low rbi/r totals. Adenhart is the prefered choice, but the question is, are you looking to trade, or draft? How are you acqing Adenhart?

Agreed! Adenhart is a guy that is very underrated IMO while Fields is quite often overrated.
Nick Adenhart is young pitcher all of whom are very risky. But he has a huge ceiling as a potenial top of the rotation starter.
I would rather have Nick Adenhart.

If I'm not mistaken I think he will start at Double A next year, which means the risk involved with taking him is a little less than other young stud pitchers at the lower levels. ex. Brandon Erbe

Chalk another one up for Adenhart. Though I will throw out that he's had Tommy John surgery already so there is some added risk. In Cedar Rapids and Rancho Cuchamango (sp?) he showed a lot of control, movement and velocity in a more extended role than I think most people expected.
I think Fields is a good prospect but his major league contribution to your fantasy team is questionable. Adenhart has more issues than most young pitchers so "buyer be 'ware" but you've got a pretty good, solid, young team with few holes so you can afford to take the bigger risk.

It would just be a straight add/ drop and based on the opinions of you guys, overwhelmingly in favor of Adenhart that I decided to pull the trigger on it.
Figure with Ethier as a reserve OF right now I can take the chance on him. Plus further reading on Fields, while indicating he is a nice prospect, there are others of his quality out there that I can grab if need be.
