Agreed; a BlackBerry isn't even a smart phone... it's a mobile email client designed to work with massive mail servers that support Outlook or Lotus Notes. It's not smart in anyway, just receives email, makes calls and has a mini web browser.
They make phones now with wi-fi and mp3 players... way more practical for an individual. The blackberry is probably the best thing for a huge company, but I hate working with them. I also think they're surprisingly generic.
Right if you have to link up with only your work email that is behind a firewall that you cannot access through OWA then you should be a blackberry as long as your company has a blackberry server of course. Now you will barely be able to surf the web and dialup speed and have no applications etc...
Get a smartphone over a blackberry..Windows mobile is pretty neat

I think it's really awesome that I can actually call someone even though I'm not even at home. Like from my car, from the golf course, wherever. It's pretty neat, really.

I really want the Q but it is not worth $400 for me right now. But if you can get one cheap, that would be the way to go. I can't wait to be able to email from my phone.

I actually went to the Verizon store yesterday and the rep told me to hold off bc between the xmas season and mid-january there is some crazy ish coming out (in terms of a smart phone).

I have the Sportster (I think that's what it's called). I definitely enjoy mine. I can preset 20 of my favorite songs and it alerts me when they're playing. I also have Game Alert so whenever any of my teams are playing it alerts me to that as well. It has every NFL game, but, currently, zero MLB games. So that sucks.
I actually just picked mine up today (Stiletto 10). So far, so good. I plan on getting the car adapter which should make for more fun rides...I also like the internet access that comes with it.
