I'm looking to buy a smart phone today (Verizon Wireless). Debating between the Blackberry, Palm Treo and the Motorola Q. Any thoughts?

Blackberries are crap.
I'd chose the Tmobile MDA if you like the touch screen. It uses windows and you can put free apps on it.
I have the SDA and like it alot but its much smaller with no touch screen.
Don't get a blackberry..get something with windows mobile
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

My dad has the Palm Treo and he likes it a lot, but other people have complained about it.

Agreed; a BlackBerry isn't even a smart phone... it's a mobile email client designed to work with massive mail servers that support Outlook or Lotus Notes. It's not smart in anyway, just receives email, makes calls and has a mini web browser.
They make phones now with wi-fi and mp3 players... way more practical for an individual. The blackberry is probably the best thing for a huge company, but I hate working with them. I also think they're surprisingly generic.
If you're a battery, you're either working or you're dead....
