Eric Clapton was born today too?

What makes you think of this?
I hope you aren't going to tell me that Eric Clapton is greater than Jimi Hendrix.

I'm partial to David Gilmour myself, but rock on Jimi!

Being left handed, Hendricks played a right handed Stratocaster... upside down. He was completely self-taught. I think that's so awesome.

Gilmour is easily my favorite, just listen to the song Sorrow- really brings the guitar to life. Not taking anything away from Jimi and Clapton-both are legends.

I actually prefer Gilmour over Hendrix too. :-o

And, yes, ABS, I believe AV was suggesting that Slowhand is a greater guitarist than Jimi was. I would agree.

I'd rather listen to Gilmour too but I still think Hendrix was the greatest guitarist there is/was.

I can't say I listen to Clapton all that much though. I prefer Hendrix more but Clapton did get 35 more years of practice in. :-?

Agreed..

I do believe he was the MOST influential rock guitarist in terms of widespread influence.

He did things that nobody had ever done before him.

Clapton is a great guitarist but I can play alot of Clapton songs almost dead on. Which is not the case with hendrix.
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment
