The reports are coming from local stations and papers. The Rays got Iwamura from Japan b/c they want a gold glover at 3B, Zobrist has absolutely torn up the Arizona Fall leauge and has a great glove. Cantu ha sfallen off and the Rays intended on trading him this year hoping he had a great season last year, but that didn't happen. Cantu's contract expires this year and Longoria will be playing 2B in AA. If Evan plays like he has been he may be a September call up.

Where did you hear this?!?!?! 8-o

Does this move his ETA up?

There was some speculation at draft time that he's athletic enough to play 2B. The last I had heard of it though was April or early May. Then I saw it posted on a Ray's blog as something that was "overheard" at the General Managers Convention. But I would lend much less credence to that than local stations and papers.

I agree that Longoria is looking at a September callup and I think he's looking at fulltime duty in 2008 if the Rays feel he can hold his own at 2B.

As for the original quesiton, I agree with the others. Gonzalez is number 1 but closely following is Longoria. (Though a move to 2B vastly improves his fantasy value). The number one pitcher of that group is definitely Yovanni Gallardo.

I too would say Gonzalez as well but no knock on Longoria.

Pitching I would say Gallardo followed by Lincecum, then Kershaw.
