Radio Station Already All-Christmas Music

A Boston FM Station 103.3 has, FOR A WEEK ALREADY, been in all-Christmas Music Mode.

I wish there was a way to block FM stations the way there are with TV channels....



Anyone else annoyed by being barraged with Christmas Carols in Mid-November?

Yeah my XM gives me an out for that. I stopped listening to local FM altogether about three years ago because every station in the Quad Cities is complete and utter garbage. Zipping through the dial it goes:

Christian
Country
Country
Pop
Country
Pop
Pop
"Classic" Rock
Pop
"Oldies"
Pop
Country
Country
Pop

Oh yeah and they all play the same thing. The word classic is italicized because of the sheer crappiness of their music rotation. When I think classic rock I think Zeppelin, the Stones, Hendrix, that sort of thing. Instead I get frickin' Whitesnake, 38 Special, Journey, REO Speedwagon. Are you kidding me? Oldies is also italicized, because apparently that term is reserved for cheesey pop ballads from the 70's now. I can't get enough of that Tony Orlando or the Captain and Tenille. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that "Oldies" was reserved for the classic Motown and early rock genres. You know like some old Marvin Gaye or Chuck Berry or Elvis. What the hell happened? Oh wait, the airwaves were taken over by Nazi Germany, better known as Clear Channel.

What was this thread about again?? Oh yeah Christmas music. Yeah I own three Christmas CD's and that's about all I need.

KOST 103.5 FM in L.A. has been playing Christmas music since last week.

Sometimes I actually get in the mood to listen to some Christmas music, but it rarely happens anytime near Christmas. I put a Christmas CD on in July once at a bookstore that I was managing. For the most part, I can't stand Christmas music during the holidays. Anyway, for my money the best Christmas collection is A Very Soulful Christmas.

Yeah we have one of those Christmas stations down here too. The worst part is my wife loves it, so it's usually on when I get home from work.

Although nothing pisses her off more than listening to It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas or Let it Snow when it's 85 out. So I do get a little satisfaction out of it.

lol exactly what i was thinking...and no its not that surprising to me. they always play christmas music and christmas as a whole starts coming into full swing around mid-november.
