Anybody else excited about this movie? I plan on seeing it the day it comes out and I'm looking forward to seeing the greatest band in the world take over the big screen.
I want to see it and I like Jack Black. Don't really have high expectations so hopefully it will surprise. I will probably just wait for DVD.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
The show was amazing and I'm happy it's R rated. I was very worried they'd try to make it kid friendly and that isn't what The D is about. I'm hoping I like it, the only movie of JB's that I've liked in a long time has been Greed.
I agree; I've never seen a Jack Black movie I particularly enjoyed. I fell asleep during that bore-fest Shallow Hal. School of Rock had potential but fell on its face, and he just seems like a take-him-or-leave-him character. Then again, Tenacious D has it's own cult following, so maybe it will bring out some more originality.
I'll have to wait to hear the early buzz.

Well, Shallow Hal and School of Rock both suck. Ever seen Saving Silverman or Orange County? Or ever heard Tenacious D?
