1) Granderson - CF
2) Polanco - 2B
3) Guillen - SS
4) Sheffield - DH
5) Ordonez - RF
6) Pudge - C
7) Casey - 1B
8) Monroe - LF
9) Inge - 3B
I am not certain on the order yet, but it will look something like that.
Casey isn't a high profile signing, but I think they are confident with the upgrade from Sheffield and decided to go with a one year bargain on Casey. In the meantime, they will further evaluate Chris Shelton and Jeff Larish and decide if either or both fit into the future plans at first base. Shelton will either open up the season on the bench or as the starter in AAA, while Larish will open up as the starter in AA.
Casey wasn't all that great in the regular season when the Tigers acquired him, but he was tremendous in the postseason. If they can get at least halfway in between, then this will work out well. Of course, they need to expect that Casey will not be an iron man and have someone ready to fill in for him.
