Earthquake hits North Japan; Tsunami expected

Postby nsulham » Wed Nov 15, 2006 8:06 am

An 8.1 quake just leveled North Japan 8-o

It's supposed to cause a huge tsunami. This one could be bad I'm afraid :-/

That's really frightening. It seems like every year lately there's some enormous environmental disaster.

I'm not a praying man, but I'll be praying for the Japanese.

What I heard in the radio was that a 16 inch tsunami hit already; not exactly devastating, but larger ones may still follow. It's possible that it won't get worse though.

The west coast of the US is also safe they are saying.

The last tsunami off of Indonesia was caused by a 9.1 earthquake.

Man, I hope these people in Japan have access to the Cafe. How are they going to know what is coming?

Seriously, though, this is unfortunate, to say the least. My prayers go out to the people in that region.

16 inch? That doesn't sound lethal at all.. :-?

Good luck Japan, Alaska, BC.

when it was first reported the tsunami was estimated to be six feet with a possibility of being 2-3 times as worse.
it's better to be safe than sorry. i haven't heard any reports lately, so i don't think it's as bad as first reported.
hope all is well in japan after this.
