Jacoby Ellsbury (born September 11, 1983, in Madras, Oregon) is a baseball player who is currently the # 1 prospect in the Boston Red Sox organization. He started the 2006 season as the Single A Wilmington Blue Rocks' starting center fielder, and was promoted on July 12 to the Double A Portland Sea Dogs. Jacoby is projected to be in the Major Leagues by mid-2008, when he could push current Red Sox center fielder Coco Crisp for his job. Jacoby is considered to be one of the top outfield prospects in baseball along with fellow Oregonian Trevor Crowe of the Cleveland Indians farm system
