We've known for a year so that it wasn't going to be called Shea so I am long over the disappointment. There were a lot of names thrown around and a lot of them were horrible. All in all I don't think CitiField is bad although I was holding out hope that the final name would be something like Shea Stadium at Citifield.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

All in all, it's not such a bad name. At least we're not "Enron Field."

I didn't know that they were going to go corporate with the name, which is a reason why I was a little more disappointed.

Though I agree, this is probably on of the better names.

It's probably one of the better 'Corporate Names' that we could have got. Regardless, the Mets are sellouts...

Wow. $400M for 20 years with an option to increased it to 35 years. I have no idea what the going rate is on stadium naming rights but that seems like a lot.

EDIT: It is a lot. Doubled the record amount paid to the Houston Texans for Reliant at $10M per year.

At $400 million over 20 years just for a name, I'd sell out too. 8-o

And it's talking about a new stadium/new revenue/a better Mets team.
