A lot people are saying that they're not ready to vote for a woman for President yet. Is there a reason why? I'm just curious, since a lot of people seem to feel this way and I'm just having trouble thinking of any reasons why that might be.

I think a lot of people still just have a 1950's view of the world; or at least an aversion to the possibility that it's not like that.

Personally, if the right woman ran, I'd have no problems voting for her if I thought she would do the best job. Makes no difference to me if it's a man or woman.

I do know a couple of other people who are as hard headed as me (imagine that :-b ) and they have said they wouldn't vote for a woman due to women being second class citizens in some areas of the world. Some countries don't even respect their own women, so why would they respect one just because she's the president of the US? Might even think less of us as a country because of it. Not too sure what I think of that situation as I really haven't checked it all out, but I don't think it would change my opinion any. I'll vote for whichever candidate I think will do the best job. Be it a man or woman, makes no difference to me. ;-D
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.

I think the exact opposite would happen; the only countries that still regard women as second-class citizens are the ones that hate us anyway, for entirely different reasons. To put this in perspective, currently 8 countries have women as their heads of state; Philippines, New Zealand, Chile, Liberia, Mozambique, South Korea, Germany and Jamaica.

Some of those ARE second-class countries; some are powerful, industrialized nations.
