I finally caught up with season 6 and I'm somewhat torn. Right now I would say it is above season 5 and about the same as season 3 but below the other 3. I've always been on the fence about whether or not I liked Debra's character, but this season pushed me over to the "she needs to die already" side just for the pure creepiness factor of where they are taking her. The talk is they are going to keep exploring that aspect next season which is really disappointing.
This is the first season I actually subscribe to Showtime for and am able to follow as it goes. That said, I watched the premiere, but didn't catch the second episode -- I'll On Demand it soon. The first episode was good, but I don't want to get my hopes too high quite yet. This Dexter/Deb thing could head south quickly if it's not written properly. The teaser for the season looks good, though, that much I will say.
Overall, I thought season 7 was fun to watch. I was surprised a few times. Just don't think too much about Dexter and Debra being very out of character.
