The final push

No question here, just telling my situation.

Here's the situation for me in my 15 team roto keeper league. I'm in #2 by 3 pts. By category, its:

My rival: Runs-15, RBI-15, SB-15, Total Bases-15, OBP-10
Wins-14, SV-15, K-15, ERA-9, WHIP-11
Total-134

Me: Runs 13, RBI-12, SB-11, TB-14, OBP 12.5
Wins 15, SV-14, K-14, ERA-11, WHIP-14.5
Total-131

Categories where I can make up points:

Obviously, OBP and WHIP, where I'm tied, could get me a point if I improve.

I trail my rival by 6 K's. That'd be a two point swing.

I trail a guy by 1 SB and have a guy behind me by 1 SB. I'm relying on Carl Crawford, Renteria, Randy Winn to get me some points there. I also have Dave Roberts on the bench if I'm desperate.

I trail a guy by 10 RBI, but have a guy 2 RBI behind me. I trail someone by 6 runs.

I trail my rival by 6 saves. I have 4 1/2 closers (Foulke, Mantei, Aq. Lopez, Riske, and Looper) to his two (Cordero and Beck). He picked up some middle men to help in the K department (Mota, K-rod, and Dotel)

My ERA is 3.71. The three ahead of my are 3.67, 3.64, and 3.62. Since my strategy is to maximize strikeouts by picking up spot starts, improving there might be dicey.

Yes, it is fun! Nerve-wracking but fun!

I'm in 2nd place also in my roto 12-team Yahoo ML 5X5 league, by 5 points. I trailed by as little as 1 point during yesterday's games before slumping in the late games (darn you, Phil Nevin.)

My rival is up on me by 2 runs (838-836) and 1 K. I'm up on him by 3 HR & 1 SB. I'm behind the next team in the rankings by .001 in BA & .01 in ERA. I also need 3 W to tie the next team in the rankings.

I've got 27 innings left - I'm starting no one today or tomorrow, but have Clemens, Livan & Radke Saturday and then hopefully will blow through my limit with Alvarez, Webb, Jerome Williams and Maddux Sunday. I'm comtemplating picking up Lilly for a start tomorrow.
