As for the next .400 hitter I think Helton and Bonds are both good choices but I would bet whoever it is going to be hasn't even been born yet.

Let me cut you off at the pass here and say , Yes, Im sure someone has gone 2-4 for a season before. I assume your asking about a whole season worth of ABs, and using the minimun AB rule for stat keeping purposes.
So there wont be a next one....or a first one for that matter. I would dare to say, .400 will only be approached seriously once every 10 years.

no 400 hitters. no one out there now will do it. maybe theres a guy, but we havent seen him in the majors yet. bonds only shot is if they walk him half his abs and he gets 1/2 every night, which is possible
but he may BARELY qualify enough at bats to even have his numbers count for a full season. heton has no chance soon. sorry rocky fans, but until rj and schilling are gone, hes gonna struggle hitting 400 in the nl west.

Seriously, the next .400 hitter has to be ARod. Once he lower his k total, he'll be a tough out.

Who knows, maybe George could buy his way into having a .500 hitter. He's bought everything else.

ive never thought of arod he just doesnt seem lik ethe type of hitter that would.
