As for the next .400 hitter I think Helton and Bonds are both good choices but I would bet whoever it is going to be hasn't even been born yet.

Let me cut you off at the pass here and say , Yes, Im sure someone has gone 2-4 for a season before. I assume your asking about a whole season worth of ABs, and using the minimun AB rule for stat keeping purposes.
So there wont be a next one....or a first one for that matter. I would dare to say, .400 will only be approached seriously once every 10 years.

Seriously, the next .400 hitter has to be ARod. Once he lower his k total, he'll be a tough out.
Who knows, maybe George could buy his way into having a .500 hitter. He's bought everything else.

ive never thought of arod he just doesnt seem lik ethe type of hitter that would.
i mean has any power hitter been a great avg. hitter
