I think he was just grouping him with other injury prone pitchers.
That, and to pitchers who dominate for a short while then with injuries that they never recover from. That's where I see this Liriano thing going.

Yeah, that would really suck. This is too bad for Liriano. Hopefully he can come back, and be as good as he was before the surgery.

It's a long time to wait. 2008 is the most likely return, and even then, it usually takes pitchers about a year to adjust. 2009 may be when he makes a real impact again.

Starter Francisco Liriano underwent Tommy John surgery on Monday to transplant a ligament in his left elbow. Dr. Lewis Yocum performed the surgery with assistance from the Twins physician Dr. John Steubs. The Twins said afterwards that the surgery took 90 minutes and did not have any complications.
